About Us
The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Radiological Security (ORS) collaborates with U.S. radiation-protection professionals to prevent high-activity radioactive materials from being used in acts of terrorism. Through the Off-Site Source Recovery Program, ORS is committed to ensuring the proper handling and secure disposition of radioactive materials by recovering disused radioactive sealed sources that may pose potential threats to national security, public health, and safety.
